Continuing Medical Education (CME)

The 12th Annual Gulf Heart Association & 4th Kuwait Cardiac Society Conference has been accredited by Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization (KIMS) and the European Board of Accreditation in Cardiology (EBAC). You can claim your CME hours with either or both of them. The four workshops planned for Wednesday March 4 have been accredited individually and separately from the rest of the scientific program. All faculty participating in the conference will disclose to the audience significant financial or other relationships relating to drugs/devices discussed in their presentations. Participants should only claim credit reflecting the extent of their participation in the conference activities.

KIMS accreditation


CME certificates for the individual workshops will be issued to paid participants on site at the CME desk in the registration area. The workshops have been accredited by KIMS as follows:

ECG & Arrhythmia Workshop 6 credits, category 1.
Basics of Medical Statistics Workshop 6 credits, category 1.
Radial Approach Workshop 3 credits, category 1.
Echocardiography Workshop 5 credits, category 1.

The main scientific program has received 14 credits, category 1 from KIMS. The program book states clearly the number of credits assigned to each session. Participants can claim their CME credits online from March 8 to April 8. To claim their CME, participants should visit the website ( and choose the CME icon. They will be directed to the entire program where they can check the events they have attended and print the automated CME letter. Participants will need the registration/badge number in order to access the CME system. Participants should only claim the session(s) they have attended.

EBAC Accreditation


The 12th Annual Gulf Heart Association & 4th Kuwait Cardiac Society Conference is accredited by the European Board for Accreditation in Cardiology (EBAC) for 21 hours of External CME credits. Day #1: 6 CME credits - Day #2: 6 CME credits - Day #3: 6 CME credits - Day #4: 3 CME credits.

Each participant should claim only those hours of credit that have actually been spent in the educational activity. EBAC works according to the quality standards of the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), which is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS). In compliance with EBAC/ EACCME guidelines, all speakers/ chairpersons participating in this programme have disclosed potential conflicts of interest that might cause a bias in the presentations. The Organising Committee is responsible for ensuring that all potential conflicts of interest relevant to the programme are declared to the audience prior to the CME activities.

EBAC CME Certificates will be issued only onsite at the information desk of the registration area. The certificate will state the number of CME hours awarded based on the number of days attended.
